Environmental Stress Cracking Apparatus

Category:

Description

Environmental Stress Cracking Apparatus (ESCR-93) is a device used to assess the resistance of plastic materials to environmental stress cracking (ESC). It exposes samples to controlled stress and environmental conditions to simulate real-world usage, helping predict material lifespan and performance.

As per ——- ASTM D1693

Environmental Stress Cracking Apparatus (ESCR-93)

This Apparatus Consists of the following :

  • Stainless steel water bath heated to specify temperature, which is maintained by a Digital Temperature Controller cum Indicator.
  • A stainless steel tray holds the Mega test tube containing Egapole Solution and test specimens inside the bath.
  • Specimen nicking device.
  • Specimen holder (U-channel)
  • Specimens cutting die.
  • The nicked specimens after stressing in a jig are inserted in the test Tubes filled with detergent
